Create conditions and branches in your storytelling!

Conditions let you control when specific groups within an event are shown or hidden.

For example, you can make the next stage of the game depend on the number of points achieved, the elapsed game time, a selected answer or the result of a spot.

This allows you to create dynamic stories, alternative storylines, and branching game flows for digital scavenger hunts, escape games, and serious games.

Create and manage a spot group

1. Create a new group

Click “+ New Group” and then drag spots into it.

2. Rename a group

Click the group name in the card header and enter a custom name.

3. Set a color for the group

The color field to the left of the name applies a color to the card and the graph for easier orientation. Click the color field to choose a color.

4. Delete a group

Use the trash icon to delete a group. The spots in that group will then be moved to “Unused”.

Visibility conditions for a spot group

Without a specific condition, a group is visible from the start of the game. Conditions let you control when a group appears or disappears again. Each condition consists of a trigger and an action: either show group or hide group.

Trigger

The condition is triggered when …

Event time reached

… the specified amount of time in minutes has passed since the game started.

Points reached

… the team has reached the specified number of points.

Spot solved

… the selected spot has been solved correctly.

Spot not solved

… the selected spot has been answered incorrectly.

MC answer selected

… a specific answer has been selected in a multiple-choice task. This allows you to create real decision-based branches, such as: “Do you follow path A or path B?”

Spot time reached

… the specified amount of time in minutes has passed since the selected spot was completed.

Important:

Multiple conditions work as OR conditions. The group appears or is deactivated as soon as any one of the conditions is triggered.

The trigger spot must be part of the same route, either the main route or a team-specific route. Otherwise, the condition can never be triggered. The board will flag this during validation.

Follow-up groups

In addition to conditions, you can define a follow-up group for each group. It is automatically activated once the current group has been completed. This ensures that no team ends up in a dead end if none of the remaining conditions are triggered.

Assign follow-up groups

In addition to conditions, you can select a follow-up group for each group. It is automatically activated once the current group has been completed, ensuring that no team gets stuck if no other condition is triggered.
