Check offline availability!

Updated on October 16, 2024

With our native Serious Games Scavenger Hunt App, you can also play offline. This means that if the app loses the connection, the solutions are saved on the device and synchronized as soon as a connection is re-established.

To ensure that all media in your event are also available offline, they must be downloaded at the start of the event. If the media is not downloaded in advance, it will be streamed when required (e.g. when a task is opened). Of course, this is not possible without a connection.

There are two important settings to ensure that the app always loads the latest data onto the device during the event check-in.

Firstly, the default setting in the event configuration should remain unchanged, which specifies that all data is automatically downloaded on event check-in. Although there are alternative settings, this default option is recommended.

If you add new tasks during the event, it can happen that an already downloaded event zip with the media is no longer up-to-date. You can check this in the “Multimedia files and offline availability” widget.

If it shows that the event zip is out of date, you should definitely create a new zip file using the button. The app will then be instructed to download the latest media again to ensure that everything is up to date.

Another tip: Pay attention to the number of media in your event. The event zip also shows you the amount of data that will be downloaded at the start of the event. Especially for public games, you should make sure that the players do not have to download too much data, or alternatively, inform them of this in advance.
