1. AR check-in type #
With the AR check-in type, your players check in at a spot by pointing the camera at the content of the scene. Typically, this means aiming at a trigger image on site, although 3D placement is also possible.
Open the Tabspot, select “AR” as the check-in type, and then choose your scene.
Please note:
When using AR, always tell your players what they should be looking for.
The app opens the camera at an AR spot, but your players only know what they are supposed to find if you explain it in the spot description or in the task itself.
Describe the target clearly, for example: “Point the camera at the mural on the town hall.”
Otherwise, the search can quickly turn into guesswork.
2. AR solution type #
In the Tabspot, select “AR” as the solution type and then choose the desired scene.
The task is considered solved as soon as our scavenger hunt app has recognized or placed the content of the scene.
There is no answer list and there are no incorrect answers.
You assign points as usual via the spot.
3. Multilingual events #
If your scene contains text, for example an AR text model or images with text, you can assign a different scene for each language in the translation tab of the spot.
For example, you could use one scene for German and another for English.
Languages without their own scene automatically use the default scene assigned to the spot.
4. How it works in the game #
When AR is used, our scavenger hunt app opens the camera.
Your players move the camera around the environment or point it at the relevant image.
As soon as the content is recognized or placed by the app, the check-in or solution is counted automatically.
Your players do not need to tap anything.
Once completed, the result remains saved even if the camera loses sight of the image again.
In the puzzle overview, you can identify AR spots by the linked scene.
The link opens an information page for the scene and shows its trigger images. This is useful for downloading images for printing or quickly checking which scene is linked to a particular spot.
