What is an event? #
Within our Serious Games Software all applications and games are summarized under the term event, no matter if you plan a city rally, a tourism tour, an outdoor escape game, a treasure hunt, an exhibition tour, an onboarding process or a knowledge rally with our software.
What is an open application / game? #
Within an event as a generic term for a general application in our system, we differentiate between the terms event and open application with regard to our billing model.
The term event, in the context of billing, stands for a time-limited and clearly defined game that is closed to a certain group, while an open application is a general game that can be played independently by an undefined number of different players / teams at different times (e.g. within a year).
What is an event dashboard? #
The event dashboard is your personal workspace to configure your event after creation, to execute it and to accompany your players as well as to evaluate it.
What are user accounts? #
User accounts are logins that authorize the use of our software. We distinguish between supervisor, event manager, operator and player. Except for player accounts, all others also have access to the online editor. The player, however, only has access to the app.
Who or what are teams? #
A player account alone does not have access to a event. It initially only entitles the player to use
the app. When a player account is added to an event, we refer to it as a team. This may seem a bit
surprising, but it comes from history. After all, our software was originally used to implement team
events. So don‘t be confused if you also come across the terms Team | Add Team | Team Name and
Open Teams in various places. Basically, a group of people but also a single player can stand here.
Team only refers to the link between player account and event. This is because a player can play in
different events with his account.
Who or what are tabspots? #
Within our system, a tabspot is simply and systematically a GPS point with information on a map that
can be accessed via our app within an event.
We distinguish between 3 different tabspot types that can be configured similarly but differently.
Infospots, for example, give the player only information without a concrete task, whereas in Quests
different solution types can be set (text, multiple choice, photo, video, open multiple choice, open
text). Within voting spots there are also different solution types for voting and polling. Among them
MC, text, stars, thumbs and smilies.
