Types of linking tabspots #
Route #
For example, you can link at least 2 following tabspots to a route, which means that the tabspots can only be played in the order you specify. The tabspots linked to a route are grayed out on the map for the player, but only one tabspot of a route is active and can be played at a time. The next tabspot of a route is unlocked when the previous tabspot has been played. It does not matter whether the active tabspot of a route is solved correctly or incorrectly. You can of course build as many different routes as you like in your events.Hidden route #
To build up suspense, you can use the Hidden Route option to hide the subsequent tabspots of a route, which means that the new tabspots only become visible on the map and the list as soon as the previous active tabspot has been played. Here too, it does not matter whether the active tabspot of a hidden route is solved correctly or incorrectly.Risk route #
It gets even more playful with the risk route option. Here, the spots in a risk route can only be played if the previous tab spot has been solved correctly. If the player solves a tab spot within the risk route incorrectly, the subsequent tab spots of the risk route can no longer be unlocked and are thus “virtually eliminated from the game”. This is an excellent way of implementing bonus levels, for example.Milestone #
You can also set starting points or milestones at various points in your event. A starting point / milestone makes all subsequent tab spots in a row invisible until the milestone has been played. Whether the milestone is solved correctly or incorrectly is also irrelevant here. Contrary to the route, you can make several previously hidden tab spots visible at once.Instructions for creating a route / hidden route / risk route #
Step 1 #
Open your event and go to the dashboard of the event.
Step 2 #
In the event dashboard, go to the side menu on the left-hand side and search for the “Storytelling” option.
Step 3 #
In storytelling, search for your tabspots that you want to link to a route, hidden route or risk route in the list on the right-hand side. Note: The tabspots you want to link must be consecutive. Sort your tabspots beforehand if necessary.
Step 4 #
You can assign one of the above properties to a tabspot using the lightning bolt icon. You can also use batch processing here by selecting several tabspots.
General notes: #
You can make several of the route settings in one event. A link always consists of at least 2 tab spots.
If you are already using the complete storytelling tool with global groups at this point, the route settings will also work here. The assignment is also made via the lightning bolt symbol – only here directly in the groups.
Instructions for creating a milestone / starting point #
Step 1 #
Open your event and go to the dashboard of the event.
Step 2 #
In the event dashboard, go to the side menu on the left-hand side and search for the “Storytelling” option.
Step 3 #
In Storytelling, search for your tabspots that you want to mark as a starting point/milestone in the list on the right.
Step 4 #
Use the lightning bolt icon to assign the desired property to your tabspots.
General notes: #
A milestone unlocks all subsequent tabspots. If you have several milestones in the event, then only up to the next milestone. This allows you to group events nicely and create tiered systems.
