Player-Account #
To get access to your Serious Games Event within our apps, your players first need a player account.
A player account is an account that can only be used to log in to our native Serious Games Scavenger Hunt App or our Web App.
A player account is not authorized to log in to the backend.
We distinguish between the following types of player accounts
A) Registered account #
You get a player account when you officially register in our native Serious Games Scavenger Hunt App in the login area, for example.
B) Guest access #
You can also get a player account if you continue in the login area of the espoto Scavenger Hunt App with guest access only.
You can also play as normal with a guest account, but this is only valid for the device on which you have created a guest account. For example, you cannot change or log in to another device with a guest account.
c) Manually created account #
A player account can also be created manually by you in the backend and forwarded to your potential players.
D) Booked account #
However, if you also use our booking APIs, a player account can also be created automatically when an event is booked and sent to the booker(s) by email. This process is similar to registration via the app, but in connection with the booking of an event / a game / a tour via a booking platform using our booking APIs.
Teams #
A player account alone does not provide direct access to a game, but initially only authorizes the use of our apps.
As soon as a player account is assigned to an event, we refer to it as a “team”. This may seem unusual at first glance, but there are historical reasons for this, as our software was originally developed for team events.
So don’t be confused if you come across terms such as “Team”, “Add team”, “Team name” or “Open teams” in various places in the event dashboard. These terms can be used for groups of players as well as for individual players.
“Team” simply describes the connection between a player account and an event, as a player can also participate in several different events with their account.
