With our Storytelling Tool, you can also activate or deactivate Tabspots based on time. The process works in the same way as with other triggers. First, assign all spots that should only become visible after a certain amount of time to a separate spot group.
Then set the appropriate trigger for this spot group and define the event time at which the group should be activated. As soon as the specified time is reached, the Tabspots in the group become available to the players.
If you want to deactivate spots again after a certain amount of time, follow the same principle: group the relevant spots in a separate spot group and use the specified event time as the trigger for deactivation.
Hint 1
If you want to activate or deactivate Tabspots by time, we recommend using the individual countdown in the event settings. This allows you to achieve precise control for all teams.
Please note that the trigger is primarily based on the set event time. The more generously the event time is selected and the more variable the actual start time, the more flexible the activation or deactivation of the global groups will be. Everything can be controlled more precisely via the individual countdown. See more here!
Hint 2
We recommend always adding an info spot to every global group. To do this, create an Infospot with the checkin type “Free” and the icon “Secret” and add a note in the Infospot description about the activation of the spots – for example: “New tabspots have been activated.”
Place the Secret Infospot in the global group in front of all other tab spots. With these settings, the secret Infospot appears as a pop-up in the app as soon as the global group is activated. The text written in the description of the Infospot is displayed as a pop-up so that you can effectively inform your players/teams about the new Tabspots in the game.
