The magic of christmas is in danger

Something seems to be wrong all around the world. The lights no longer sparkle the way they used to. Christmas cookies simply refuse to turn out right. And even familiar Christmas songs suddenly feel strangely empty.

The Guardians of Christmas have discovered the reason:

People are gradually forgetting what Christmas is really about – shared moments, traditions and memories.

Then Guardian of Christmas Nikodemus disappears as well. All that remains is a mysterious gift.

And this is exactly where the teams’ mission begins.

The players symbolically travel around the world, discover Christmas traditions, solve puzzles and collect fragments of Christmas magic.

Story, puzzles, clues and scoring are managed through the espoto app.

How the game works

Four steps to the goal

Knowledge, dexterity, creativity and organisation constantly alternate throughout the game. Different team members can contribute their individual strengths.

1. Start the mission

Each team receives a tablet and its own game table with a locked gift box and a variety of exciting materials.

2. Discover christmas around the world

An interactive world map features 25 Christmas traditions and challenges from different countries.

3. Solve puzzles and get creative

Escape-style puzzles, quiz questions, photo and video tasks, and creative challenges create variety and plenty of memorable team moments.

4. Uncover the secret

With every solved puzzle, new clues come together. Teams that combine them carefully can eventually open the mysterious gift.

The game concept is designed primarily for corporate Christmas parties and festive team events. It is ideal for companies, event agencies and event organisers looking to offer a shared indoor experience combining puzzles, creative challenges and a festive atmosphere.

The game is designed to last around 90 minutes as standard. Depending on the event format, the playing time can be adjusted, for example to approximately 60 to 120 minutes.
For indoor events, we recommend around 4 to 6 people per team. Of course, teams can also be larger or smaller. Any number of teams can play simultaneously using our scavenger hunt software, making the concept suitable for larger events as well.

At the same time, the challenges offer enough depth to encourage teams to think, discuss and solve puzzles together. There are also plenty of fun photo and video challenges for the more creative players.
No. The concept combines digital and physical game elements. Teams play using the espoto scavenger hunt app on a tablet while also working with a locked gift box, a wish list, craft materials and additional props.
The game combines escape-style and logic puzzles with quiz questions, estimation and matching tasks, as well as photo, video and creative challenges. The entire game revolves around Christmas traditions from around the world.
No. By observing carefully and combining clues cleverly, teams can work out how to solve the mystery of the gift box during the course of the game. It is therefore not necessary to complete every single station.

The event template is created in our espoto Serious Game Software, where it can be duplicated and customised. The guide specifically allows you to adapt aspects such as the event duration and the exact setup to suit the individual event format.
