The secret of the Prussians - urban crime game meets digital city tour

38 degrees in the shade, a three-hour walk through Potsdam and plenty of thrills – that was our first test run for “The secret of the Prussians“. Why? Because as developers, we don’t just test at our desks, but also directly at the scene of the action.

Because that’s exactly where our latest project is set. Our new digital city thriller for the mytabgame app, which we developed together with Teamgeist GmbH from Potsdam.

A city game that can do more than just guide

When we started developing the game, our aim was clear: a classic city tour is no longer enough. With this city crime game, we wanted to develop a tour that focuses on interaction rather than listening, combines puzzle fun with local history and turns the city into a real stage for experiences.

The result is a digital adventure route through Potsdam, embedded in a crime story that leads players through historical locations, secret clues and surprising twists and turns.

Development in collaboration with Teamgeist

The project was developed in close cooperation with Teamgeist GmbH, an experienced provider of team events that is not only deeply rooted in Potsdam, but also knows exactly what excites groups about outdoor events.

Our task was the conceptual, technical and creative implementation within the mytabgame platform – including:

  • Story design,
  • Game structure,
  • Video editing,
  • Notebook feature,
  • QR code connections and
  • location-based tasks.

Technical implementation: gamification meets tourism

The city crime game is based on our mytabgame framework, which bundles interactive game concepts for the B2C market in one app – mobile-friendly and modular. Our focus was on combining the technical structure with a narrative depth that clearly surpasses the classic “quiz on a cell phone”.

One particular focus of Geheimnis der Preußen was the digital notebook, which serves as a central investigative tool for players – either directly in the app or optionally via QR code on a second device.

Who is the game for?

The game is designed for

  • Tourists who want to explore Potsdam individually,
  • Locals who want to experience their city in a different way
  • School classes and companies who want to combine team building with adventure and
  • Escape fans who want to get out into the great outdoors.

We are delighted that our game can now be booked via mytabgame.com and that the first teams are already exploring Potsdam.
